Arrive before the published sunset, use a paved or well-set-back legal viewpoint, and begin the return while the ground is visible. The reward is the ocean scale and color; the cost is parking pressure, erosion, unprotected drops, and a crowd that does not make the edge safer. Liberty Public Market is an optional staging stop only on long-daylight dates, not a universal eighth entry.
