6 Places Worth Your Time in Ramona & Alpine, Ranked

34Ramona and Alpine are not one compact downtown guide. They are a reservation- and-weather route through ranch country, vineyards, open space, and exposed trail. Plan around the camel farm calendar or a cool-season permit first, choose a sober driver for the winery, and leave enough daylight for the road back. The distances are part of the experience, but so are the constraints.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Active warning: As checked July 17, 2026, Cedar Creek Falls had dwindled flow and stagnant pool water; check same-day Forest Service alerts and do not plan a summer swim
Heat + water: Cedar Creek is exposed and requires one gallon of water per person; high heat can close access, and the dated permit must be downloaded before the no-service trailhead
Reservations: Oasis Camel Dairy has no daily walk-in hours, and Ramona Ranch is closed Tuesday and Wednesday — anchor the day to live calendars first
